About the Edge Wallet
Edge (formerly known as Airbitz) launched their new multi-asset wallet earlier this month. It supports Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dash, Augur REP and Wings tokens. Furthermore, is also the only multi-asset mobile wallet that allows users to add ERC-20 tokens that Edge doesn’t natively support.
The Edge wallet, available for download on iOS and Android, focuses on providing the best client-side security to its users while remaining familiar and accessible.
Let’s Get Started
To begin setting up your Edge wallet, you’ll need to first visit https://edgesecure.co/ and, as always, security comes first, so be sure to you look for the green lettering in the URL and confirm that you’re in the right place.
Next, select which device you want to set up your Edge wallet on. (For the purposes of this tutorial I’m going to download it to my Android phone.) You will be directed to Apple’s App Store or Google Play respectively. From there, you can begin installing the app.
Make sure you’ve got your device to hand.
You will receive a notification asking you to confirm that you’re trying to sign into your account from another computer. Click yes to approve the sign in.
Click ‘install’ and Edge – Bitcoin Wallet should begin to download.
Once the app has installed on your device, you’ll need to create an Edge account. This is quick and easy to do in just 3 steps.
Choose a username.
Select a password
Your password must be at least 10 characters long and include at least one number, one lowercase letter, and one uppercase letter. Of course, it’s better to add some numbers and special characters too.
Set a 4-digit pin.
ProTip: Write down your username, password, and pin and keep them somewhere safe. If you lose any of this information, you will lose access to your funds. Don’t let that happen!
Now that you’ve set your username, password and pin, all that’s left is for you to confirm your account. You do this by reading and confirming that you agree to Edge’s terms and conditions.
And that’s everything. You will be able to view your balance and begin to send and receive tokens in the app.
