The creators of the KIK Messenger service have reported they are launching a cryptocurrency fund for developers worth USD 3 million in a bid to help the company to monetize digital economics. The app creators are also the driving force behind kin cryptocurrency and are placing a bet on talented developers who can help to propel the company forward in this brave new crypto world.
The KIK Messenger and kin crypto have been successful over the past year or so, but are not resting on their laurels as they begin to build for the future.
KIK giving cryptocurrency fund to quality developers
The Kin Foundation is now accepting those wishing to apply for the Kin Developer program, which is geared to paying 25 developers a combined total of USD 3 million from their cryptocurrency fund. The payments are for developers to create and maintain “kin economics” over the next 6-months.
Each developer invited to join the program will be given up to USD 116,000, which will be paid in a mix of both kin tokens and USD, to create apps that are based on the Kin Ecosystem SDK. The idea is to provide users with innovative in-app opportunities where you can make and spend kin across digital platforms. The developers will also get the opportunity of a personal mentor during the program to help them along the way.
Founder and CEO of KIK and kin, Ted Livingston, was very upbeat about the company’s plans moving forward by saying: “Up until now, developers haven’t had access to a consumer-ready cryptocurrency that can easily be integrated into mainstream apps and platforms.” Livingston went on to say that, “The Kin Developer Program offers just that, and it also financially incentivizes developers to create natively with Kin, bringing us closer to our goal of becoming the most used cryptocurrency in the world.”
KIK’s 6-month program
This unique cryptocurrency fund will facilitate the 6-month program that will be broken down into three stages. The chosen developers can earn rewards by meeting certain benchmarks. However, to obtain the full USD 116,000, each developer has to integrate an app by October that is approved by the KIK team, alongside onboarding 10,000 monthly active wallets (MAW) by the start of Jan 2019, and to expand the network to a figure that reaches at least 50,000 MAW by the start of April 2019.
A massive USD 98 million was raised last year by KIK from their greatly-anticipated initial coin offering (ICO), which used the large funds raised by the crowdsale to incentivize the further development of the coin moving forward. The KIK Messenger is already an extremely popular app, and one of the major successes of the past several months.
If you are a developer who wants to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make your mark and to get your hands on a slice of the developer’s cryptocurrency fund, this is your chance to not only change your life but the crypto industry at large.
